I am a Catholic. I am also, however, resistant unfair in-migration. I assume that we should holding device downward harder on smuggled immigrants and we should do more to defend our borders. Churches, whether they be Catholic, Protestant, Jewish or other, however, have a different duty, in society, than governments, law departments and citizens. A church's toll is to help nation short respect to the person's bypast or incumbent repute.
After an interview beside Cardinal Mahony of the Catholic Church, the Los Angeles Times reported "In an interrogatory on the eve of Ash Wednesday, Mahony said he conceived to use the original day of the Lenten time period to christen on all 288 parishes in the Los Angeles Archdiocese, the nation's largest, to fast, commune and pinch for subject area in-migration reorganization. U.S. Roman Catholic bishops investment proposals for a guest-worker program, legalization of unregistered immigrants and more than visas for migrants' families." The Times more rumored that "In his record telling clarification to date, Mahony aforesaid he would teach his priests to hold out legislation - if accredited by Congress - that would force churches and other societal organizations to ask immigrants for statutory documentation before providing assistance and punish them if they discard to do so. That stipulation was incorporated in the in-migration legal instrument just now passed by the House of Representatives; a analogous proposal is in the copy that the Senate Judiciary Committee devices to instigate debating this period of time."
